About Us

“ Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.”

-Andrew Carnegie

  History & Mission

Jordan Lake Business Park was established in the Bell School Building, originally built in the1920’s by the Bell family. The family also built Bell’s Chapel and the school was generously donated to the county. The building experienced many uses but was left vacant by the early 1970’s. Nate Shaeffer, local fluorescent light artist, reimagined the space as a co-operative and organized the Jordan Lake Business Park Association and established the governing declarations in 2004.

The slow process of revitalizing the unique building and five-acre lakeside plot began, assisted by North Carolina’s first Integrated Water System, designed by Dr. Hal House. The unique system enables JLBP to operate as one of only two commercial buildings on Jordan Lake with light industrial usage.

JLBP is a cooperative, of property and business owners working together to continue to progress the care and development of our special property and the businesses housed within it.
